Ceremonies 

University-wide commencement ceremonies will be held in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center

  • Doctoral Degree Ceremony:
    • Friday, August 8 at 2:00pm (processional to begin at 1:40pm).
  • Master’s, and Bachelor’s Degrees ceremony #1:
    • Friday, August 8 at 7pm (processional to begin at 6:30pm)
    • Colleges participating: ART, DCP, HHP, HW ENG, CJC, MED, NURS, PHARM, PHHP, VET MED
  • Master’s, Specialist’s and Bachelor’s degrees ceremony #2:
    • Saturday, August 9 at 10am (processional to begin at 9:30am)
    • Colleges participating: CALS, EDU, CLAS, WCB

Faculty Serving as Escorts and/or Hooders

Candidates for Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Education and Doctor of Plant Medicine degrees will invite a faculty member to serve as their escort and hood them.

Candidates for Doctor of Business Administration and Doctor of Nursing Practice will be hooded by designated faculty members from their respective program.

Ordering Regalia

Candidate regalia orders will be accepted through June 27 through this link: https://businessservices.ufl.edu/services/uf-bookstore/graduation/

Payment is required when placing an order.

Faculty regalia Emails will be sent based upon escort information submitted to the GIMS system. These emails will be sent after the order deadline has passed. Therefore, if you have a doctoral candidate graduating this semester, please order your regalia on or before the June 27 deadline. https://facultydirect.herffjones.com/

Formal academic regalia is required for all faculty members attending the ceremonies as a doctoral commencement ceremony as a platform party member or as an escort and/or hooding faculty member for doctoral degree candidates.

Marshal Robes

Faculty members serving as a marshal at the university-wide ceremonies do NOT need to order academic regalia – a marshal robe is provided to all marshals, free of charge, for use at the university-wide commencement ceremonies.
