UF To Operate Normal Class And Office Schedules

Chris Brazda, Interim Vice President for Public Relations

University of Florida officials are closely monitoring Hurricane Ivan and the impact on local area conditions. Based on weather forecasts as of Tuesday at 11 a.m., the University of Florida plans to operate normal class and office schedules for the remainder of the week.

Heavy rains and gusty winds are expected Wednesday through Saturday in the north central Florida area. Those living in flood-prone areas are advised to monitor conditions carefully. UF administrators remain sensitive to the individual situations of students and staff needing to attend to their particular needs.

UF officials will continue to monitor the National Weather Service for updates on Hurricane Ivan and make further necessary decisions regarding class and office schedules based on those updates.

Continue to monitor this Web site for further updates and the local media, including UF radio stations WRUF-AM 850, WRUF-FM 103.7, WUFT-FM 89.1 and WJUF-FM 90.1, and television station WUFT-TV 5.
