Graduate Assistant and Faculty Appointments

Joe Glover, Interim Provost & Kyle Cavanaugh, V.P. for Human Resources-designate

Given the challenges of the past year and the ongoing reorganization of several administrative units, it is premature to ask all units to assume responsibility for entry of graduate assistant and faculty appointments into the university computer system. Consequently, the Office of Academic Personnel will continue to process centrally all academic appointments for E&G units through October 1, 2005. Departments and units that would like to assume responsibility for input and processing of academic appointments may do so by notifying Janet Malphurs in the Office of Academic Personnel before May 1 and by arranging appropriate training for staff.

During the Summer 2005 and Fall 2005 semesters, we will assess the advantages and disadvantages of centralized appointment processing and decide future policy. Your input into this decision will be appreciated as the year unfolds.
