Announcement of ICBR Director Appointment

Winfred M. Phillips, Vice President for Research

Dr. Robert J. Ferl has been appointed as Director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research (ICBR), effective June 16, 2006. Following an international search, Dr. Ferl was selected to bring his wealth of talent and experience to the position.

Dr. Ferl holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Hiram College, and a master’s degree and a doctoral degree in genetics from Indiana University. He is a professor in the Horticultural Sciences Department, and the Director of the Center for Exploration Life Sciences.
