As most of you know, the University of Florida made the decision some months ago to implement the PeopleSoft Student System as the second phase to the current PeopleSoft project. The student system was tentatively scheduled to begin roll-out in 2006.
However, with our employees already consumed with the current PeopleSoft implementation, we have decided to re- examine our student system plans. As of today, UF has postponed any further development of PeopleSoft student systems. During this postponement period, we […]

Given the challenges of the past six months, it seems premature to ask individual units to assume responsibility for entry of graduate assistant and faculty appointments into the university computer system. Consequently, the Office of Academic Personnel will continue to process centrally all academic appointments for E&G units through June 30, 2005.
During the Spring 2005 semester, we will assess the advantages and disadvantages of centralized appointment processing and decide future policy. Your input into this decision will be appreciated […]

In times past, departments made repairs and renovations to the network infrastructure inside their buildings. Such work involved pulling copper wires and sometimes fiber optic cables, and typically was done by in-house department staff.
Computing and Networking Services (CNS) is tasked with stewardship of the University’s Network Infrastructure as well as the standards by which this infrastructure is installed. Design, installation, repair, and renovation of the core network infrastructure (between buildings) are the responsibility of CNS. We […]

Federal laws restricting exports of goods and technology can impact research training, and other activities conducted by university faculty. Export control laws apply not only to the actual export of goods and technology outside the United States, but also to the disclosure of certain technical data or information to foreign persons while in the United States (referred to as “deemed exports”).
Universities are required to comply with these regulations. Individuals who violate export regulations are subject to […]

The fee payment deadline for graduate students has been set for Friday, October 15, 2004 at 3:30 P.M. The original fee payment deadline of September 3, 2004 had been extended because of hurricanes and because of the number of graduate assistants who had not received paychecks.
All students receiving financial aid have a deferred fee payment deadline of November 19, 2004 at 3:30 P.M.
Students may pay on ISIS (www.isis.ufl.edu) with Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. They may also pay by […]

Faculty and Departments are asked to submit their Spring term textbook adoptions at http://www.textadoption.ufl.edu by October 15, 2004.
While this may seem to be an early deadline, it advantages students and local bookstores in several ways. First, it allows students to view course textbook requirements during registration on ISIS. Second, when the information is registered in the database, students will get the best prices for their used books during the fall semester book buybacks because bookstores will know which texts […]
