This memorandum is provided to inform faculty and staff of student tuition and fees effective Fall Semester, 2001. This information may be accessed at (www.admin.ufl.edu/ddd/Attachments01-02/2002-01TuitionTable1.pdf). The Fall 2001 fees are shown in comparison to Fall 2000 fees. Changed fees are highlighted in bold print. Pursuant to Section 240.124 F.S., each student enrolled in the same undergraduate course more than twice shall be assessed an extra $185.34 per credit hour in addition to the fees for each such course.

The Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 was signed into law June 7, 2001. A recent memorandum advised you of the new federal income tax withholding table rates effective July 1, 2001. This memorandum is to advise you that the Supplemental Federal Income Tax Rate changes from the current 28% rate to 27.5% effective August 6, 2001.
This tax rate change will affect the gross payment on Departmental Superior Accomplishment Awards defined in Florida Rule 6C1-3.040(2)(a)(6). […]

As Vice Provost for Information Technology, Chuck Frazier has implemented the initial recommendations of the IT Review Committee. The first two steps recommended in that report called for the formation of a transition committee and the creation of a multi-layered, university-wide advisory structure. Chuck has already called the IT Review Committee back to serve as the transition team, and a standing committee on high-performance computing has been formed as well.

The Immigration and Naturalization Service has announced a new service called “Premium Processing” where for a $1,000 fee the INS will guarantee applications for certain types of work visas will be processed within 15 calendar days. Only the employer may complete and submit the form I-907 required for this service, but either the employer or the individual receiving the visa may pay the $1,000 fee.

We are pleased to announce a more efficient process to assist you in providing formal and timely feedback to employees via the University Support Personnel System (USPS) performance appraisal forms. Beginning on August 1, USPS performance appraisal forms will be available on our website, www.ups.ufl.edu. The online version, a Microsoft Word format, will allow supervisors to complete the appraisal form online, print it for signatures and submission, and save it for future reference.
