Hoffmann named Director for Government Relations

Provost David Colburn has announced the appointment of Marion Hoffmann as director for government relations. Hoffmann will be responsible for leading and coordinating the efforts of the university’s lobbying team and will report directly to the offices of the president and provost.

“She brings a combination of personal skills and experiences from both the private and public sectors that we believe will be invaluable in representing the university’s goals,” Colburn said.

Transfer Student Orientation Parking Impacts

This is a reminder that Transfer Student Orientation will impact parking on Tuesday, December 5, 2000. The gates will be raised at the Newell parking garage to accommodate Preview attendees. Parking enforcement will be lifted for all Orange parking areas in the vicinity of the Reitz Union. Preview attendees will also be allowed to park in the McCarty parking lots and the Engineering lot across Museum Drive from the Reitz Union.

In preparation for the holiday season and leave requests, we are providing you with a new policy for advancing annual leave.

Annual leave may be advanced to Faculty, A&P, and USPS employees who do not have sufficient leave to cover normal working hours for the period of December 18-29, 2000.

Parking Impacts Due to Holiday Classic Swim Meet

Parking restrictions on the top two floors of the O’Connell Center parking garage will be lifted to accommodate attendees of the Holiday Classic Swim Meet December 1 – 3, 2000, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The North End Zone grass lot will be made available for overflow parking.

Individuals who regularly use the lot are advised to plan ahead and make alternate parking arrangements, or to arrive early if necessary. Please call Transportation and Parking Services if you need more information.
