College of Medicine Dean to be Interim VP for Health Affairs

College of Medicine Dean Kenneth Berns, M.D., will be the interim Vice President for Health Affairs when David Challoner, M.D. leaves his position on September 1st.

Move to Grinter Hall

Ellis, who has been serving as an Assistant Director of Purchasing responsible for the Small and Minority Business Enterprise Program, to the position of Director of Small and Minority Business Affairs. After several years as Director of University Personnel Services, Jack Heidler has tendered his resignation in order to pursue other opportunities. Mr. Robert Willits has been named the Interim Director of University Personnel Services.

Fiscal Year Cashout for Special & Overtime Compensation

Student Employment and FICA Exemption

As a result of a recent Internal Revenue Service procedures change (98-16), the restriction limiting student employees to 20 hours of work per week to qualify for FICA tax exemption has been lifted. The new policy at the University of Florida, listed below, will be effective as of May 3, 1998.
