Benefits Fair
Peter Maren, Assistant Director, University Benefits
University Benefits will be sponsoring the third annual Benefits Fair on September 26 and 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Reitz Union Ballroom. Representatives from 40 benefit vendors, including entertainment vendors, will be available to meet with individual employees and answer their questions. This is an excellent opportunity for all University of Florida employees to learn more about the benefits that are available to them. Spouses also are encouraged to attend.
The Benefits Fair will precede this year’s open enrollment period that begins on October 2 and runs through October 31. The open enrollment period for health insurance, state group life insurance, supplemental insurance, and medical and dependent day care accounts allows University of Florida employees to add, drop, or make changes to their existing coverage.
During open enrollment, employees will be able to:
- Add health coverage (either the state group plan or a health maintenance organization).
- Drop health coverage.
- Change from one health coverage plan to another.
- Add or drop dependents.
- Add or drop state-sponsored decreasing term life insurance, of which the state pays two-thirds of the premium.
