In response to the number of employee complaints lodged against Unisys, which is the state of Florida group health plan administrator, Governor Chiles and the Department of Management Services have arranged for a representative from Unisys to be housed at the University of Florida during the week of October 21 to resolve state employee complaints. The announcement from the Governor’s Office was made late Wednesday afternoon.

As a convenience to employees, the representative will be housed in University Personnel Services’ E&G/Auxiliaries Office, which is located in room G-6 of the J. Wayne Reitz Union (next to the JWRU Hotel reservation desk). The representative from Unisys, while maintaining office space at UF, also will be addressing complaints from all affected state agencies in the area. UF was chosen as the site for the representative’s office due to the large number of affected employees in one workplace.

This recent announcement from Governor Chiles’ Office is an attempt to respond to numerous complaints from state employees involving slow claim processing, provider networks, and similar concerns related to Unisys. According to the Governor’s Office, similar efforts will take place throughout the state of Florida over the next several weeks.

The Unisys representative’s phone number while he or she is at UF will be 392-3701, SC 622-3701.
