John Lombardi, President

I am pleased to announce the October 1 opening of nominations for the University of Florida Superior Accomplishment Awards Program. The purpose of the program, now in its tenth year, is to recognize faculty, Administrative and Professional (A&P), and University Support Personnel System (USPS) employees who have contributed outstanding service in their fields during the 1997-1998 academic year.

As in prior years, each division-level award winner receives $100, a certificate, and a memento coffee mug. Each division winner is eligible to be selected for one of the six university-level awards of $1,000 each. The Gabor Agency, Inc., sponsors four awards in the amount of $500, and the Hilb, Rogal, and Hamilton Company of Gainesville, FL, Inc., provides two awards also in the amount of $500 each.

To participate in the Superior Accomplishment Awards Program, simply submit award nominations to your divisional committee chair as listed in the below web site. Also, nomination forms, criteria and an explanation of the program may be obtained at http://www.urel.ufl.edu/supacc.htm . Nomination forms and further information are also available from your divisional committee chair or University Personnel Services.

For your convenience, nomination forms may be duplicated. Self nominations are not accepted. The divisional awards committee is responsible for the nomination process and for selecting winners in your division. The nomination deadline date is December 1, 1998.
