Dean of the College of Dentistry

I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Teresa Dolan has agreed to accept the position of Interim Dean in the College of Dentistry effective June 1. Currently the college’s associate dean for education, Dr. Dolan will serve in the interim dean capacity until July 1, 2004. She is an outstanding member of the faculty and is widely respected by her colleagues, students, and those in the dental profession.

Dr. Dolan is a professor of dentistry and has been the Associate Dean for education at the college since 1996. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Rutgers University. She received a DDS degree from the University of Texas and a Master’s of Public Health degree from UCLA. She was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Dental Health Services Research Scholar, and she completed a Veterans Administration Fellowship in Geriatric Dentistry.

She joined the UF faculty in 1989. In 1995, the American Board of Dental Public Health awarded her Diplomate status. Her research has focused on access to care issues, oral health promotion, and appropriate oral health outcomes for older populations. She has received numerous grants and awards, and has published extensively in the area of geriatric dentistry and geriatric dental education.

Dr. Dolan replaces Dr. Frank Catalanotto who is stepping down on May 31st after a very successful seven years as dean of the college.
