As part of the University’s on-going efforts to recognize employees, I am pleased to announce UF’s participation in the 2006 Davis Productivity Awards. Presented annually, the Davis Productivity Awards honor state government employees throughout Florida who have significantly increased productivity in delivering state services and products. Awards are also made to individuals and work units for adapting and implementing previous years’ award-winning achievements to create added value. The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, September 27, 2005, at 5 p.m.

The program presents cash awards ranging from $250 to $2,500 as well as commemorative plaques, certificates of commendation, and letters of honorable mention. A committee of Florida TaxWatch staff and a panel of judges make award decisions.

You may nominate an individual or work unit in one or more of the following categories:

•Individual – An achievement by one UF employee
•Team, Work Unit or Partnership – An achievement by two or more UF employees
•Exemplary Achievement of a State Agency – An achievement by a state agency or one of its divisions, districts, institutions, or comparable organization
•Adapting and Implementing – Adaptation and implementation of a previous Davis Productivity Awards achievement by an individual, team, work unit, division, district, institution, or agency OR an award winner who helped others to adapt and implement the previous winner’s achievement
•Sustained Exemplary Performance – Recognition of an individual, team, work unit, division, district, or institution for winning multiple Davis Productivity Awards over a period of five or more years, and/or recognition of individuals with 20 or more years of state service who have a history of exceptional performance
