WebCT Review and Commitment for Future

A review committee was established to investigate the effectiveness of the campus course management system known as WebCT Vista. The report can be downloaded from the IT website at: http://www.it.ufl.edu/documents/WebCT%20Final%20Report.pdf

The report found that use of course management systems is increasing on campus and critical for future educational activities. The Office of Academic Technology is already implementing many of the recommendations from the report. Disaster recovery operations and a representative test environment are being implemented.

The administration is committed to using the WebCT Vista system as the single enterprise course management system for all of campus. As such, we will follow the recommendations of the committee and develop a funding support structure to guarantee stable and sufficient funding for the system.

We encourage all faculty to use the system for supporting their teaching efforts.
