Dr. Marie Zeglen Named Assistant Provost and Director of Institutional Planning and Research

Dr. Marie Zeglen, senior vice provost at Florida International University, has been named Assistant Provost and Director of Institutional Planning and Research at the University of Florida. Dr. Zeglen will assume her duties on June 1, 2006. Dr. Zeglen earned her bachelor’s degree in anthropology from Ohio State University and her master’s and doctorate degree in sociology, specializing in research methods and statistics from Washington State University.

Dr. Zeglen brings with her a combination of knowledge and experience. While at Florida International University, she served as policy analyst and advised the university leadership on issues such as accreditation preparation and strategic planning. She has worked for state university systems in New Hampshire and Wisconsin where she was responsible for data analysis and accountability measurements. At Northern Arizona and Cleveland State, she acquired extensive experience with PeopleSoft implementation, institutional research and data analysis. Her time at FIU provided her with an exposure to the State University System of Florida and she will be a terrific addition to the University of Florida.
