Message from Vice President Jane Adams
Jane Adams, Vice President for University Relations
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Crowley to the newly created position of Assistant Vice President, Community Relations, effective May 21.
In her new position as leader of the Community Relations department, Susan will be responsible for developing and implementing a community relations plan for the University of Florida, representing UF before local governments and community organizations, partnering with Shands Healthcare and others at the university on community initiatives, and supporting our government relations efforts. She also will serve as the new director of the University of Florida Community Campaign, assuming the responsibility from Jim Morgan , who retired earlier this year.
Working with Susan will be Florida Bridgewater-Alford, Director of Community Relations.
Susan comes to UF from the Alachua County Medical Society, where she served as executive vice president for 11 years. There, her responsibilities included organizational management, community relations, public and government relations and member services. Long active in the Gainesville community, she has served on the Alachua County Health Care Board and been involved with the Healthy Community Initiative, Rotary Club of Gainesville, Junior League of Gainesville and Hospice of North Central Florida. She currently is president of Gainesville Women’s Forum.
I hope you will join me in welcoming such a respected community leader to the University of Florida.
