Below is a wonderful opportunity for the many programs and departments on our campus who work with Latino students. The Examples of Excelencia initiative is designed to identify and honor programs and departments that are at the forefront of increasing academic opportunities and improving achievement for Latino students at the Associate, Baccalaureate, and Graduate levels. It focuses on highlighting programs with proven results and disseminating their practices to others interested in serving Latino students. Excelencia in Education (www.edexcelencia.org) invites you to make a nomination for a program or department you believe deserves to be recognized as an Example of Excelencia by nominating them here: http://edexcelencia.org/examples09/nominate/login.asp. One program at each level will be selected as the 2009 Example of Excelencia and will be awarded a $5,000 grant to support their efforts. More information about this initiative can be found here: http://edexcelencia.org/programs/examples/default.asp and in the attached flyers.

If you would like to nominate a program or department for this award, please go directly to http://www.edexcelencia.org/examples09/nominate/login.asp to fill out an online nomination form. The deadline for nominations is May 15, 2009.
