New Vice President for Business Affairs

Win Phillips, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, J. Bernard Machen, President

Curtis Reynolds, the University of Florida’s assistant vice president for physical plant, has been named the university’s vice president for business affairs. His new position is effective Jan. 6, 2012.

Curtis joined UF in July 2010 as assistant vice president for physical plant. From 2006 to 2010, he was vice provost for facilities management at Miami Dade College, where he was responsible for business affairs on eight campuses located throughout Miami-Dade County.

From 1993 to 2006, Curtis worked at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he rose from maintenance engineer to executive director for administration. In the latter position, he was responsible for oversights in finance, business processes, information technology and energy management.

Curtis holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in electrical engineering, both from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a master of business administration degree from the University of Alabama. He is a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers, the U.S. Green Building Council, the National Society of Professional Engineers and the Association of Higher Education Officers.

Curtis succeeds Ed Poppell, who retired in November after working at UF for more than 41 years.

Please join us in congratulating and supporting Curtis in his new role.
