Division of Sponsored Research Director Tom Walsh to retire

After 27 years of service, Dr. Thomas Walsh has announced his retirement from the University of Florida effective April 15, 2013. He will be stepping down as Director of the Division of Sponsored Research (DSR) at the University of Florida effective September 30, 2012, and will serve as Associate Vice President and Special Advisor to the Vice President for Research for the balance of his term.

During Dr. Walsh’s career, the research enterprise here at the University of Florida has enjoyed remarkable growth. Under his leadership, the Division of Sponsored Research and the professionalism it projects has played a significant role in this success.

The University of Florida will be forever grateful to Tom for his sincere dedication and effort to advancing the research mission of this institution.
