Graduate Student Scholarships – Deadline, Thursday, May 23
Susan Robell, Scholarship Chair, University Women’s Club
The Board of the University Women’s Club has approved five (5) scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to be awarded to graduate students this year. The student must, at least, be completing the first year of graduate study and must be a U.S. citizen and permanent resident. The awards for men and women are based on scholastic excellence, character and financial need. Only one student may be nominated by a department or program.
To complete the application process we ask that YOU, as nominator, provide us with the name, student ID#, and mailing address of the candidate along with a recommendation in his or her behalf. The student’s curriculum vitae should accompany this as well. This nomination must be received by May 23, 2013. The applications may be sent by e-mail or regular mail as long as they are received by May 23.
After a review of all candidates by the Scholarship Committee, five scholarship winners will be selected. The professor nominating the student will be notified of the award as will the winners. Scholarship checks will be mailed to the students directly.
