I am pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Auer as Interim Director of UF
Performing Arts, effective August 1. She will continue in that capacity until the search
process for a new permanent director is completed and the new director is prepared to
take the reins.
Michael Blachly will continue to work as director of planning and operations for the
presidential investiture throughout the fall semester.

A UF emergency exercise is planned for Thursday morning (July 30) in and around Ben Hill Griffin
Stadium between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The exercise will involve volunteers with simulated injuries, law enforcement agencies,
fire departments and other public safety personnel. UF police officers will be stationed
around the exercise area to help direct pedestrian and vehicle traffic. There will also be
public safety vehicles stationed near the South side of the stadium.
