Appointment of Dean of the College of the Arts

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Onye P. Ozuzu as Dean of the College of the Arts effective August 1, 2018. As Dean, Ms. Ozuzu will be responsible for formulating and articulating a shared vision for the UF College of the Arts, leading fundraising efforts, and managing the college’s budget and personnel. Ms. Ozuzu comes to UF from Columbia College Chicago where she has served as the Dean of the School of Fine and Performing Arts since 2015, and prior to that as Chairperson of the Department of Dance. Previous to her Columbia tenure, she was Associate Chair and Director of Dance in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Ms. Ozuzu earned her Masters of Fine Arts in Dance and Choreography (1997) and Bachelors of Arts in English Literature (1994) at Florida State University. Ms. Ozuzu has an established record of effective, inclusive, and collaborative leadership, an outstanding record of teaching and creative activity, and a demonstrated commitment to the Arts.
