W. Kent Fuchs, President

I am pleased to inform you that, following a national search, Nancy Paton has been selected as Vice President for Strategic Communications and Marketing. Her first day at the University of Florida will be October 1.

Nancy comes to us from the University of Buffalo, where she has served as Vice President for Communications since 2013. She is a national leader in advancing the role of higher education communications and actively serves on the APLU Executive Board for the Council on Strategic Communications. Additionally, she won Higher Education Marketer of the Year by the American Marketing Association last year. Prior to that, she served as Chief Public Affairs Officer for Kaiser Permanente’s Ohio region. I am confident Nancy will help us advance the University’s stature as one of the nation’s top public research universities via an overarching public relations and marketing strategy, and I am pleased to have her join us in this role.

Nancy holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Akron and a master’s degree from Purdue University.

Please join me in congratulating Nancy and welcoming her to this role at the University of Florida!
