Spring 2019 Textbook Adoptions

The textbook adoption system for spring 2019 is now available to faculty and departments to submit their textbook adoptions and materials requirements. Please visit http://www.textadoption.ufl.edu/ to enter spring 2019 adoptions.

In order to facilitate timely ordering of materials by the UF Bookstore, please submit adoptions, by October 29, 2018.

The deadline for spring 2019 adoptions is November 23, 2018 for compliance with Florida Statutes.

Updated Travel Reimbursement Directives

The University of Florida’s directives for travel reimbursements have been updated to clarify reimbursement for commercial airfares. All travelers and originators should review the updated directives before purchasing airfare, to ensure all requirements for reimbursement are met.

Fall 2018 Commencement Information

There will be two university-wide commencement ceremonies coordinated by the Provost’s Office — a Doctoral Degree Ceremony on Friday, December 14th at 2:00pm in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center, and an all-degrees ceremony on Saturday, December 15th at 9:00am in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Additionally, except for the College of Dentistry, each college will hold their own recognition ceremony at a designated time during the same weekend. Dates, times and locations vary and can be found at https://commencement.ufl.edu.

NIH Concerns with Foreign Entities

On August 23, 2018, NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins issued a statement to the NIH extramural research community about NIH’s concerns of foreign influence on NIH researchers and peer reviewers.

Colleges are invited to submit nominations for the UF Teacher/Scholar of the Year Award for 2018-2019. Originating in 1960, this is the University of Florida’s most prestigious and oldest faculty award.

It offers an honorarium of $6,000 in addition to other appropriate recognition, such as the automatic induction to UF’s Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars (ADTS).
