Melissa Curry, Vice President for Human Resources

I am pleased to announce a call for nominations for the University of Florida’s Superior Accomplishment Awards. Now in its 35th year and coordinated by UF Human Resources, the awards are designed to extend our gratitude and bring special attention to faculty and staff who go above and beyond to advance the mission of the University of Florida and serve the greater community. Nominations may be submitted from Monday, Oct. 2, through Sunday, Nov. 12, via the online nomination form: https://uf.tfaforms.net/f/hr-saa-nomination.

Each year, the UF community takes time to recognize faculty and staff who have contributed outstanding service in their fields during the previous academic year — in this case, Aug. 1, 2022, to July 31, 2023. Division-level winners of the Superior Accomplishment Awards receive a cash award along with a certificate of appreciation and university memento. Each division winner is then eligible for one of nine university-level cash awards or one of six special recognition cash awards, which will be presented in April 2024.

This year, we are pleased to announce enhancements to the program, including the introduction of three new award types.

  • Rookie of the Year is designed to award newcomers who, having successfully passed their probationary period, have excelled and had a positive impact through their work early on in their role at UF. For this award, a newcomer is defined as someone who has been at UF for less than two years.
  • Team Collaboration is designed to recognize a team of employees (maximum of six) who worked together to accomplish great things for the institution and its future. For this award, the employee listed as Nominee is considered the Team Lead and others are Team Members.
  • Sustained Excellence is designed to recognize individuals whose exceptional performance, contributions, and successes took place over a longer span of time (minimum of three years). To be considered for this award, nominees should not have won a Superior Accomplishment Award in the last five years.

Also new this year: During the nomination period, the Superior Accomplishment Awards website will be updated to include two leaderboards that show which college/unit is in the lead and which categories have received the most nominations.

For additional information about the Superior Accomplishment Awards program — including the nomination process, criteria, award types and access to the nomination form — please visit the awards’ website at https://learn-and-grow.hr.ufl.edu/awards-recognition/superior-accomplishment-awards/.

The Superior Accomplishment Awards program has recognized and celebrated deserving university employees for their extraordinary achievements and dedication. Recognition by one’s peers is the highest level of achievement and, thus, the success and impact of this program depends on our participation.

Thank you for your support of this program.
