BellSouth Service Conversion

Earlier this year the University of Florida entered into a new service level agreement with BellSouth, Inc. Part of this agreement will convert the University of Florida service from ESSX to Centrex at the central office switch. This massive database conversion requires a ten business day freeze period by BellSouth on all moves, adds or feature changes to all lines serving the University.

The use of the Purchasing Card (Pcard) has been expanded and has been approved for official business travel effective immediately. Currently issued Pcards are not active for travel purchases. Future Pcards will be issued under one of three purchasing profiles:

Commodity Only Pcards………….($1000 limit per transaction)
Travel Only Pcards……………….($2000 limit per transaction)
Travel and Commodity Pcards…..($2000 Travel / $1000 Commodities limit per transaction)

Operating Budget Procedures

In accordance with the Standard Practice from the State University System (SUS), the Operating Budget for next year will be installed on the Florida Accounting Information Resource System (FLAIR) effective July 1, 2001. 1. All Federal Work Study (FWS) student assistant appointment forms (SP/100s) for new hires, payrate adjustments, account changes and hour increase or decrease for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2001 must reach the Student Employment Section no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2001.

Poppell Named Vice President for Administrative Affairs
