Campus Climate Committe

One of the recommendations of the Task Force on Admissions I appointed during the last academic year was that we conduct a thorough examination of the climate at the University of Florida for minority students and identify ways of improving that climate. Provost David Colburn and Dr. Jim Scott, vice president for Student Affairs, have appointed the Campus Climate Committee to undertake this task.

Technical Assistants Training Program

This is to announce that the Spring curriculum of CIRCA’s Technical Assistance Program (TAP) will be offered starting the week of Wednesday February 7th, 2001.

The Technical Assistants Program is designed to train students or staff who provide technical support in academic units. Departments may send full-time or student employees to TAP training.

TAP participants may elect to attend any or all of the subject areas being offered. These include: Client Services, Desktop Services and HTML for Consultants.

Child Care Subsidies Available

Project Access, a federal grant awarded to Baby Gator Preschool, has child care subsidies available for five children (Kindergarten through 5th). These funds will subsidize the cost of after-school care, at any local elementary school, up to the rate of $115.00 per month for 10 months. In order to be eligible for the subsidy you must be a Pell grant recipient at the University of Florida.

Master Plan Informational Meeting

Two meetings will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 17 to discuss revisions to the University of Florida’s Master Plan amendment. The joint University Land Use and Facilities Planning/Advisory Committee meeting will be held from 9 a.m. until noon in room 282 at the J. Wayne Reitz Union. A public information meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the Samuel P. Harn Museum Chandler Auditorium.
