I am pleased to announce that the Office of Academic Affairs will launch a program for the instructional use of laptop computers in the classroom. This program will be administered through the Office of Instructional Resources. OIR will provide a new laptop computer for the faculty selected for this program and provide sixteen hours of web-based training for classroom instruction. Please remember that parking restrictions are now enforced in the core of campus (bordered by University Ave., North-South Dr., Archer Rd. and 13th St.) until 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. Vehicles parked without the proper decal in this area before 4:30 p.m. will be ticketed.

Inez S. Wolins has resigned her position as director of the University of Florida’s Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art effective Sept. 22, 2000 due to family reasons. Larry David Perkins, Harn Museum curator of non-western art, has been named interim director. He assumes his new responsibilities on Sept. 23.
