This is to inform you that the Telecommunications Department has been made aware of a phone scam in process on the University campus.

This type of fraud involves a perpetrator who calls an office and cons an unsuspecting worker into transferring him or her to an outside line. The University of Florida is offering a one credit First Year Experience course (SLS 1102) in fall semester 2000. A committee of faculty, student affairs staff, and students is in the process of completing the syllabus, working on a course guide, and developing a training module.
