Dr. Terry Hynes, dean of the College of Journalism and Communications, has announced the following administrative re-assignments, effective July 1, 1999:
Dr. James L. Terhune has accepted an appointment as chair of the Department of Public Relations.
Dr. John W. Wright has accepted an appointment as the college’s senior associate dean for academic and administrative affairs.
Dr. Marilyn Roberts has accepted a one-year appointment as acting associate dean for graduate studies.

I am pleased to announce that Dean John Kraft, Warrington College of Business, has agreed to serve as the chair of the search committee for the Dean of the Frederic G. Levin College of Law.
I am also please to announce that Dean Donald McGlothlin, College of Fine Arts, has agreed to serve as the chair of the search committee for the Dean of the College of Architecture.

I am pleased to announce that Dr. M. J. Ohanian has agreed to serve as Interim Dean of Engineering, beginning July 1, 1999. We will be conducting a national search for a new Dean of Engineering. Phillip A. Sharp, Ph.D., Salvador E. Luria Professor and Head of the Department of Biology at the Center for Cancer Research, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will be the next speaker in the Presidential Lecture Series at the University of Florida.
