Proposed 2019-2020 Fringe Benefit Pool Rates

The University has calculated the new proposed pooled fringe rates for fiscal year 2019-20 and has submitted them to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Although we do not expect any objections, the proposed rates are subject to DHHS approval and should be used with that understanding in your planning for fiscal year 2019-20.  The rates, when approved, will be effective July 1, 2019.

Distance Learning Fees/Dates and Deadlines

Applications to request Distance Learning Fees
for the Summer and Fall 2019 terms are now being accepted through
PeopleSoft.  All departmental applications should be submitted no later
than Friday, February 8, 2019 and Dean’s approval is required by Friday,
February 15th.  

(Reminder, DL Fees applications are
required each semester for all courses as they are not carried over.)

Airbnb Banned for Official State Business Travel

On January 15, 2019, Florida’s Governor issued in the following letter: https://www.flgov.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/DMS-Letter.pdf to discontinue reimbursement to employees and contractors on official state business for Airbnb services. As a result, UF is making the following changesto its current directives and procedures.

The Course Fee Module to re-certify or adjust Material &Supply Fees (MSF) and Equipment Use Fees (EUF) for the Summer 2019 and Fall 2019 Terms is now open.  All departmental requests should be certified no later than Thursday, January 31, 2019 and Dean’s approvals by Thursday, February 7, 2019.

Florida Minimum Wage Increase Effective January 1, 2019

In January, the state minimum wage will increase 21 cents from $8.25 to 8.46 per hour. UF Human Resources will identify employees, including OPS, STAS, and FWSP, currently earning an hourly rate less than $8.46 per hour.

The University’s minimum hourly wage for TEAMS and USPS employees will remain $13.00.
