Kyle Cavanaugh, Senior Vice President for Administration

Effective November 1, 2007, each eligible faculty (including Postdoctoral Associates), TEAMS, and USPS employee who was hired on or before July 1, 2007, and has been continuously employed by the university through and including November 1, 2007, shall receive a non-recurring, one-time lump sum payment of $1,000. The actual payment will be in the November 9, 2007 paycheck. These payments are subject to applicable taxes. Each eligible part-time employee shall receive a lump sum payment prorated based on the full-time equivalency of his or her position as of November 1, 2007.

Employees who were in OPS, student assistant, or other non- salaried categories and who subsequently were hired into an eligible TEAMS or faculty position after July 1, 2007, are not eligible. Also, employees with performance appraisal ratings of “below performance standards” or whose appointment has not been renewed are not eligible.

Departments will not have to input the payments into myUFL/PeopleSoft. Departments will be provided a report via myUFL which identifies potentially eligible employees. Each department is responsible for reviewing their list to ensure each employee is eligible to receive the payment. A system- generated Additional Pay record will then be created in October for all eligible faculty, TEAMS, and USPS employees. An instructional guide can be found at http://www.hr.ufl.edu/managers/UF_Nov2007_Lumpsum_Review_File.pdf.
