The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed by Congress in December 2017 repealed the deduction for moving expenses making employer paid moves or reimbursements a taxable benefit to the employee. Employer paid moving expenses in 2018 are no longer a deductible expense, meaning they are subject to Social Security (or FICA Alternative), Medicare and Federal withholding taxes.

Faculty members being considered for tenure, permanent status, and/or promotion in the academic year 2018-19 must be made aware of the website URL where they can find the University’s “Guidelines and Information Regarding the Tenure, Permanent Status and Promotion Process for 2018-2019”. Ceremonies: This spring, the university-wide commencement ceremonies will be held in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.
There will be seven university-wide commencement ceremonies coordinated by the Provost’s Office — a Doctoral Degree Ceremony (Friday, May 4th at 9:00am), two Master’s/Specialist’s Degrees Ceremonies (Friday, May 4th at 2:00pm and 7:30pm), and four Bachelor’s Degrees Ceremonies (Saturday, May 5th at 9:00am and 2:00pm, and Sunday, May 6th at 9:00am and 2:00pm).
