Summer 2015 Commencement Information

Donna K. Stricker, Director, Presidential Events and Commencement, Office of the President

Ceremonies:
This summer, there will be two (2) university-wide commencement ceremonies – a Doctoral Degree Ceremony (Friday, August 7th at 4:00pm) and a ceremony for Master’s, Specialist’s, and Bachelor’s Degree candidates (Saturday, August 8th at 10:00am). Both ceremonies will be held in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. For additional information, please see the Commencement Website at http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/commencement/ under the heading Ceremonies Schedules.

Ordering Regalia: Formal academic regalia is required for all faculty members attending commencement (except for faculty serving as Marshals). The deadline for ordering academic regalia is Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Information on ordering regalia is available from the UF Bookstore (392-0194). An order form may be found at http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/commencement/ under the heading in the upper right hand corner of the screen, ‘Academic Regalia,’ then scroll down to ‘Faculty Regalia Order’. Payment is required when placing an order. NOTE: Faculty serving as Marshals DO NOT need to order academic regalia to serve as a marshal. Marshals will be provided with a marshal robe (at no cost) immediately prior to the beginning of the ceremonies.

Faculty Escorts: Candidates for the Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Education, and Doctor of Plant Medicine degrees will be assigned an official commencement escort. Faculty designated as escorts will receive an e-mail from the Office of the President with further details about responsibilities, assembly times, and hooding instructions. This e-mail is generally sent two weeks prior to commencement. However, if you have a graduate student scheduled to graduate during the summer term, please order your regalia on or before the July 1st deadline.
