Applications to establish or adjust Material and Supply Fees and Equipment Use Fees for the Summer and Fall 2012 Terms are now being accepted. All departmental requests should be submitted no later than February 10, 2012 and Deans approvals by February 17, 2012.

Revision to Cell Phone Reimbursement (Wireless Devices) Policy

Effective January 1, 2012, the University of Florida is revising its cell phone reimbursement policy pursuant to IRS Notice 2011-72 and a related memorandum to IRS field agents.

Two major changes are:

Reimbursement for cell phone service or for the cell phone purchase will not be taxable, and therefore, no gross-up is needed. The phone must still be provided for noncompensatory business purposes to remain nontaxable. Each department is responsible for documenting the business purpose. No […]

New Sales Tax Rate for Alachua County

Effective January 1, 2012, the new sales tax rate for Alachua County will be 6.0 percent. The Alachua County .25 percent Indigent Care (Choices) Surtax is scheduled to retire on December 31, 2011, meaning Alachua County will have no discretionary sales surtax for 2012. This rate applies to the sale or use of taxable merchandise or taxable services delivered into Alachua.
