The University on Friday will observe a moment of silence to mark the eighth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The observance will begin at 9:11 a.m. In addition, a candlelight vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Friday on the Plaza of the Americas next to the 9-11 Never Forget Project, a memorial with 2,977 flags representing each person killed in the attacks. This year’s benefits Open Enrollment period for UF employees will kick off Monday, September 14, and end Friday, October 9, at 5:30 pm EST. Open Enrollment is the only period during the year in which changes to pre-tax benefits can be freely made without experiencing a qualifying event (e.g., change in marital status, birth/adoption, leave of absence, change in FTE, etc.).
