With the 2008 hurricane season beginning on June 1st, it is important for colleges, departments and units to review their emergency planning efforts.
As a reminder, UF’s Departmental Tropical Weather Response & Recovery Plan template is available – http://www.ehs.ufl.edu/disasterplan/Natdispl.rtf.
The document serves to assist in planning for a hurricane including recommended actions before, during and immediately after a storm. The template contains baseline guidance for work units including checklists for potential hurricane closures.

Dr. Bruce Kone has been relieved of his duties as dean of the College of Medicine, President Bernie Machen and Senior Vice President of Health Affairs Doug Barrett announced Thursday.
Kone, who was appointed as dean in May 2007, will retain a faculty position within the department of medicine in the division of nephrology.
