Faculty members are invited to submit proposals for the fifth annual competition for internationalizing the curriculum. Up to 16 grants of $3000 will be awarded to faculty for proposals to develop new courses with substantial international content or for modifying existing courses to increase their international component.

The University of Florida expands its outside building smoking restriction to all campus buildings effective Monday, January 22, 2007. In compliance with the Florida Clean Indoor Air Act of 1992 (Section 386.201 of the Florida Statutes), smoking is prohibited within all UF buildings. Employees’ 2006 W-2 forms will be distributed from University Tax Services (Room 24, Tigert Hall) to departments on January 26, 2007. Employees will also receive an Employee Year-End Earnings Statement which will assist them with matching earnings, deductions and taxes to their W-2s. This statement will be similar to the earnings statement provided by the Bureau of State Payrolls prior to the University’s devolution from the State of Florida.

The University has just signed a site license agreement with Oracle for their database software. We have site licensed three major products: Enterprise Database, Clustering Software and Tuning/Management Utilities. This includes support/ maintenance for the products. In addition, we have locked in an excellent discount (45%) for any additional products that may need to be purchased.
