Material and Supply Fees

We are now accepting applications to establish or adjust Material and Supply Fees for the Fall 2006 term. The decision to implement new or modified fee requests must be approved by the President by March 1st. Therefore, please submit your requests through your Dean’s office by February 17, 2006.

Reorganization of the Office of the Provost

FICA Alternative Plan

As you are aware, the University is implementing a FICA Alternative Plan effective with the February 3, 2006 paycheck for employees that are not able to be covered by the university’s retirement plan and currently pay social security taxes (primarily OPS Non-Students). Please note that each OPS employee situation should be carefully evaluated in determining eligibility for this plan. University Women’s Club Scholarships

The University Women’s Club awards scholarships each spring to undergraduate Juniors and Seniors. These awards are named in honor of the wives of past University of Florida Presidents and distinguished administrators.

The requirements for consideration include full time enrollment at the University of Florida, current Junior or Senior status, a minimum of a 3.6 GPA, and participation in campus and/or community activities. 2005 W-2 Forms

Employees’ 2005 W-2 forms will be distributed from University Tax Services (Room 24, Tigert Hall) to departments on Thursday, January 26, 2006. Unlike last year, employees will receive one 2005 W-2 form from the University. Last year, most employees received two W-2 forms – one from the University and one from the Bureau of State Payrolls as a result of devolution from the State of Florida.

On December 19, 2005, the Department of Labor (DOL) issued its final rules for the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) which will be effective January 18, 2006.
