I am pleased to announce that the Office of Academic Affairs will continue the initiative to foster the instructional use of computers in the classroom. The “UF Faculty Development Program” will be administered through the OIT-Office of Academic Technology. This year’s program will have several changes from the previous two programs. The Division of Human Resources is pleased to announce the following guidelines for the October 1, 2002, salary increases, provided by the 2002 Florida Legislature. Eligible full-time employees will receive the following salary increases, the calculations for which are based on September 30, 2002, salaries. All eligible full-time employees will receive a minimum increase of $600, and part-time employees will receive a pro-rated increase.

University of Florida President Charles Young has named Dr. Richard Bucciarelli to the post of vice president for governmental relations. The appointment is effective Sept. 1.

The Telecommunications Department is responsible for the distribution of the University of Florida campus directory and the BellSouth Gainesville directory. Our distribution list needs to be updated prior to the delivery of the 2002-2003 directories. Please respond to the following questions by August 30st.
