The Telecommunications Department is responsible for the distribution of the University of Florida campus directory and the BellSouth Gainesville directory. Our distribution list needs to be updated prior to the delivery of the 2000-2001 directories. Please respond to the questions in the attached form by August 31st. Housing, Student Government, Health Center, Shands, and off campus IFAS locations receive bulk shipments and do not need to respond to this memo.

Effective August 1, 2000, an employee changing from one authority code to another will have his/her security deleted from administrative systems. In order to provide for exceptions, your security coordinator will receive an email notifying him/her of the pending action and if no request is received from your security coordinator within 5 working days the security will be terminated.

Facilities & Administrative (Indirect Cost) Rates Revised Contracts & Grants Procedures

This memorandum contains updated information regarding the Facilities & Administrative Rates as well revised Contract & Grant Procedures. Information regarding the rates affects the entire campus; information regarding revised procedures affects all departments which deal with Contracts & Grants in Tigert Hall.

– Dr. Kevin Boggs joins OTL as Assistant Director, Biological Sciences. Kevin has a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology and recently completed his MBA.

– Dr. Anthony Palmieri is assuming the position of Assistant Director, Pharmaceuticals. He holds an M.S. in Pharmacy and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics.

Purchasing Card Program Requirements for Back up Reconcilers and Approvers

As the result of a recent audit, all processing groups will be required to have back up in place for the reconciling and approving functions by September 22, 2000. Small departments may need to look to other departments or other administrative staff for back up. This will be left to the discretion of each area’s Dean, Director or Department Head. Purchasing cards for Processing groups without back up in place by the above date may be deactivated.
