I am pleased to announce that Linda Vivian assumed responsibilities as Senior Coordinator for the Graduate School (effective July 22, 1999) reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Student Affairs in the Graduate School. The Letter of Appointment File has been updated to allow for the payment of full tuition fees for graduate assistants and pre-doctoral fellowships, when appropriate. The payment of the full fees will include matriculation, out-of-state fees, non-Florida financial aid, material and supply fees and other non-matriculation fees.

When the University converts to our new Purchasing Subsystem (TOPAS) the purchase orders on the PO History File will be moved to the new system. Change orders done in Finance and Accounting are not reflected on the PO History File. In order to keep the Purchase Order History File and the Encumbrance File in synch; the change orders for blankets should be done in Purchasing.

I am pleased to announce that Dr. James Scott has accepted our offer to assume the position of Vice President of Student Affairs. Pending the successful resolution of the details, Dr. Scott will assume his new position on September 1, 1999.
