Holiday Season Advanced Annual Leave

Annual leave may be advanced to and used by Faculty, A&P, and USPS employees who do not have sufficient amounts of leave to cover normal working hours for the period of December 17, 2001 to January 4, 2002.

Recurring Payments Using the Purchasing Card

We continue to expand the Purchasing Card Program in an effort to add convenience and gain efficiencies. You are now able to pay some recurring charges using your Purchasing Card. Some Examples are:

Alachua County One Percent Discretionary Sales Surtax Begins January 1, 2002

Effective January 1, 2002 the University is required to begin collecting the Alachua County one percent discretionary sales surtax. This surtax applies to the sale or use of taxable merchandise or taxable services delivered into Alachua County and is applied in addition to the State’s six percent sales tax. Sue Legg Resignation and Her New Position

On January 1, 2002, Dr. Sue M. Legg will step down as Director of the Office of Instructional Resources (OIR), after long and distinguished service to the University of Florida. Sue began her work with OIR in 1974 as a statistician. In 1977, she was promoted to Assistant Director of Testing and Evaluation, and three years later she became Associate Director, a position she held until 1995. In that year, she was appointed Director of OIR.
