Registration is now open for the fourth session of the 2009-2010 Academic Administrators Seminar Series which takes place on February 10, 2010, from 8:30am-11:00am in Emerson Alumni Hall, Presidents Room B. The series is designed to bring together department chairs, directors, associate deans and deans in discussions about academic administrative management at UF.

dossiers and the University evaluation process for 2010-2011.

Faculty Enhancement Opportunity Award Applications

I am pleased to announce the fourth call for Faculty Enhancement Opportunity (FEO) Award applications. Applications will be due this Spring for awards in Summer and Fall, 2010 This pilot project is a part of President Machen’s efforts to support and enhance professional development opportunities for the faculty.

The UFF has agreed to include in-unit faculty in the FEO program. Final decisions on awards will depend on approval of the contract.

Employees’ 2009 W-2 forms will no longer be distributed by the departments as a result of the implementation of electronic W-2 forms.

In accordance with IRS regulations, employees’ 2009 W-2 forms will be mailed by January 31, 2010 to employees who do not consent to receive their W-2 forms electronically. E-Verify Update – January 2010 Implementation

A communication was previously sent regarding the potential requirement to use E-Verify, an employment eligibility verification system operated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The current Federal Administration has upheld the executive order that requires all federal contractors and subcontractors to use E-Verify as a part of the hiring process. As a federal contractor, we are now required to verify all new employees using E-Verify.
