UF will observe the National Day of Mourning with a special service at 12:15 p.m., Friday, Sept. 14, at the University Auditorium. Distinguished Service Professor Michael Gannon will deliver remarks and faculty from the School of Music will perform.

The United States Congress has declared Friday, Sept. 14, as a National Day of Mourning. In observance of this day at UF, the University Auditorium and the Baughman Center will remain open all day. We urge students, faculty and staff to use either facility for moments of silence, prayer and/or as a gathering place for fellowship with others. Due to the change in work schedule on Tuesday, September 11, 2001, the Payroll processing schedule will be changed. The Payroll Online Certification normally available to Payroll Processor and Authorizers on Wednesday will be available on Thursday morning through 2:30 pm. This change will allow the Personnel offices time to input the employee changes on Wednesday that normally would have been completed on Tuesday.

As Governor Jeb Bush announced at 3:20 p.m. today, classes and normal operations at the University of Florida will resume, Wednesday, Sept. 12. All faculty and staff should report at normal assigned times and normal work locations.
I am sincerely appreciative for the caring and helpful responses of UF personnel and students during this difficult and tragic situation.
