The Provost’s Office is pleased to announce the establishment of the Provost Administrative Fellowship Program. The program will be available in the fall to four faculty members at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with less than ten years experience since their Ph.D. to work in the Provost’s Office for the fall or spring semesters. There will be two fellowships per semester in academic year 2000/2001.

Dr. Anthony Catanese, president of Florida Atlantic University, has withdrawn his candidacy for president of the University of Florida. The Board of Regents Selection Committee will meet in Gainesville on May 17 with the Presidential Search Advisory Committee to discuss the search.

I am writing to ask your assistance in reminding faculty and graduate teaching assistants that final examinations are to be given when scheduled. They should not be given during the reading period. If the faculty member has assigned a take home paper or a take home examination instead of an in-class final examination, students should have until the day of the final examination to complete the requirement.
