This is a reminder that no comprehensive examinations or term papers should be assigned during the upcoming reading days (April 24-25, 2014). No classes should be held on reading days, and students are encouraged to use these days for study and review. Additionally, consonant with university policies, final examinations are not to be changed. Please be mindful that our students have several examinations and changing your examination can affect their entire schedule.

UF/IFAS Associate Vice President Joyce to lead IFAS Center for Leadership

I am pleased to announce that Joseph Joyce, Associate Vice President for Agriculture and Natural Resources, will leave that position to lead the development of an IFAS Center aimed at leadership development.

In his new role, Joyce will manage the overall coordination and delivery of leadership programs within UF/IFAS and develop appropriate linkages with other leadership programs. His new job begins July 1.

I am pleased to announce that Elaine Turner, senior associate dean and interim dean for the University of Florida College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, has been named dean of that college, effective April 11.

Dr. Turner has been interim dean of the school since early January. She succeeds Teri Balser.

Applications to establish or adjust Material and Supply Fees and Equipment Use Fees for the Spring 2015 Term are now being accepted.  All departmental requests should be submitted no later than September 12, 2014 and Deans approvals by September 19, 2014. Provost required approval requests should be approved by the Dean and submitted no later than September 12, 2014.
