I am pleased to announce two appointments in the Office of the Provost. Dr. Angel Kwolek-Folland, has been named Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and Dr. Zina Evans has been named Executive Director of the Office of Admissions and Associate Provost for Enrollment Management.

As you will recall, the endowment spending bases were adjusted upwards on September 30 and December 31. In January, the UFF Finance Committee approved a special additional increase, raising the ratio of spending base/market value to 90%. In March there was no adjustment.

I am pleased to announce that effective August 1, 2008, Associate Vice President for Human Resource Services, Paula Varnes Fussell, will assume the role of Interim Vice President for Human Resource Services reporting to the Senior Vice President for Administration. In her new role, Paula will assume all day-to-day operational responsibilities for Human Resource Services.

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Chuck Frazier has agreed to assume the position of Interim Chief Information Officer (CIO), reporting to the Senior Vice President for Administration, effective August 1, 2008.
