Each year Academic Affairs offers the opportunity to extend current assignments for 12 month OPS faculty, post-doctoral employees, residents, interns, clinical fellows, and 12 month graduate assistants (Job Code C) in the personnel/payroll system into the new fiscal year via a computer listing. This procedure eliminates the time and effort it would take to prepare appointment forms for these employees.

In mid-June blanket requisitions that were entered on the electronic requisition system during 1999 – 2000 on state, auxiliary or local funds will appear on level 1 browse screen and highlighted as new requisitions. The departments may change anything other than the Requisition number and must change the dates on the blankets then forward to Purchasing beginning June 29. Dr. José Medina, considered the founding dean of the University of Florida College of Dentistry, retired Dec. 31, 1999. Medina has served the university for 32 years in various positions. He was dean of the college from 1969 to 1973. Also considered the father of operative dentistry, Medina has worked more than 50 years of his life in dentistry.
