Colleges are
invited to submit nominations for the UF Teacher/Scholar of the Year Award for
2019-2020.  Originating in 1960, this is the University of Florida’s most
prestigious and oldest faculty award. 

It offers an
honorarium of $6,000 in addition to other appropriate recognition, such as the
automatic induction to UF’s Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars
(ADTS).

assure that every faculty member in your college is familiar with the policy specified
below and complies with its provisions as they relate to accommodating
students’ religious observances.

faculty must work together to allow students the opportunity to observe the

Please remind faculty in your units of the
following university approval process for travel and taking leave.

Faculty who plan to be absent from their assigned campus duties must do so with the knowledge and concurrence of their Chair/Director.  “Assigned campus duties” includes assigned classroom instruction, office hours, and other service activities as assigned.  Faculty may not cancel assigned campus duties or substitute other faculty members to perform them without the concurrence of the Chair/Director.

2019-20 Pay Program

I am pleased to share information about the 2019-20 pay
program for University of Florida faculty and staff, which President Fuchs announced
earlier this summer.

This year, the University will implement a 1 percent
across-the-board recurring increase for all eligible employees and has created an
aggregate increase pool of 2 percent to be used for market and merit in amounts
